Graphic Patterns / Fashion Collection
My proposal to the Young creators of the world 2018, a contest created by Promperu in order to show and promote the young design in my country. My project was formed by 8 looks, 4 created in cotton and 4 in alpaca. The collection was inspired the he richness of the native Peruvian languages, as they are the symbol of belonging to a social and cultural group, but also a link with our history and our territory. The education and transmission of our values takes place precisely through words.
I have transformed sentences belonging to Article 12 of Law No. 29735 that regulates the use, preservation, development, recovery, promotion and dissemination of Peruvian original languages, from 5 different native languages (Ashaninka, Awajun, Shipibo, Quechua and Aymara) to textile patterns using coding and programming languages (see Appendix), linking tradition and original culture with digital technology. This action seeks to give the message that the fashion industry, in order to have a global and sustainable promotion and marketing, can take advantage of the original culture in a respectful way and highlight the identity while experimenting with new technologies.
